Contacts and consent

Nice Rank keeps one contacts database for email and text, with consent tracked separately for each channel. Consent records include source, date and wording. Being a customer is not marketing consent.

Unsubscribed, bounced and opted-out contacts cannot be re-imported or messaged on that channel. This keeps the contact record connected to the actual permission available for email or text instead of treating every name in the database the same way.

Campaign work is easier to trust when every message begins with a clear purpose and the right contact context. Keep email and text choices separate, use the shared contact record before you send and make the next follow-up useful to the person receiving it. A considered audience is more valuable than simply sending to the largest possible list.

How to approach it

  1. 01

    Review the contact record

Check the email and text consent states separately before planning a message.

  2. 02

    Read the consent history

Use the source, date and wording to understand how permission was recorded.

  3. 03

    Respect unavailable channels

Do not re-import or message contacts who are unsubscribed, bounced or opted out on that channel.
