Importing contacts safely
Import contacts with care. Nice Rank keeps consent separately for email and text, including the source, date and wording. A contact who is unsubscribed, bounced or opted out cannot be re-imported or messaged on that channel.
Being in a customer list is not marketing consent. Before importing, review what permission exists for each channel and keep marketing data separate from service context. This protects the business from treating a useful database as a blanket list of marketing subscribers.
Campaign work is easier to trust when every message begins with a clear purpose and the right contact context. Keep email and text choices separate, use the shared contact record before you send and make the next follow-up useful to the person receiving it. A considered audience is more valuable than simply sending to the largest possible list.
How to approach it
- 01
Review consent before import
Confirm what permission exists for email and for text separately.
- 02
Keep unavailable contacts unavailable
Do not re-import unsubscribed, bounced or opted-out contacts for that channel.
- 03
Use the contact source accurately
Keep the recorded source, date and wording connected to the contact record.
