Text inbox: replies, STOP and HELP
Text Inbox keeps customer replies visible. STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT and STOPALL opt out instantly. HELP replies with the business name and phone. START re-subscribes a person to text messaging.
Use the inbox to respond with context, but do not override the opt-out rules. A person who has opted out cannot be texted on that channel unless they re-subscribe with START. Keep the visible consent state at the center of every texting decision.
Campaign work is easier to trust when every message begins with a clear purpose and the right contact context. Keep email and text choices separate, use the shared contact record before you send and make the next follow-up useful to the person receiving it. A considered audience is more valuable than simply sending to the largest possible list.
How to approach it
- 01
Read the incoming message
Open the reply in Text Inbox and check the contact’s current text-consent status.
- 02
Respect the keyword action
Let STOP-style words opt out immediately, and use HELP and START as defined by the channel.
- 03
Continue only when allowed
Send a follow-up only when the contact is eligible for text on that channel.
